How Do I Tell You This: LA Film Prize Announcement

Announcing pre-production for the new Jankis Media short film How Do I Tell You This, written and directed by Chad Hill. The follow-up to Chad’s Louisiana Film Prize 2019 Selection Invitation, this romantic drama tells the story of Elizabeth and Ted, two long-time internet pen pals united by their respective personal tragedies. Ted is an artist working as an accountant by day, having never left his hometown. Elizabeth is an international aid worker stationed in northern Italy, her most recent stop on a restless intercontinental journey. During a visit to the states, Elizabeth travels to meet Ted for the first time on the night of his gallery opening. Neither one knows that the other loves them.

Production will take place July 18th-20th for participation in the Louisiana Film Prize’s 2020 edition, with hopes to compete for a grand prize of $25,000. The beautiful historic district of downtown Natchitoches, Louisiana, famous as the setting for the classic film Steel Magnolias, will serve as the backdrop for this melancholic modern love story.

We know that current times are difficult for many, but we ask that you support the film financially if you are able. You can donate to the film by clicking the link below. A minimum donation of $100 is encouraged, but any amount that can be given helps provide funds for the most talented crew, camera and lighting equipment, production design, and food and accommodations for the shoot. Donors will receive a special shout-out on the Jankis Media social media page, and larger donations of $100 or more will receive special thanks in the film’s credits. Amounts larger than $500 will be granted an Executive Producer credit.

If you are a company or cannot give financial support, we also welcome in-kind donations. It takes a lot to keep a crew going through a day of shooting, and we will need food, water, drinks, and snacks to make that happen. Anything that can be provided would not go unappreciated.
